Paul Ondrejcek, my grandfather, did these drawings in what I believe was the early 1950's. I remember seeing them a few times over the years. While cleaning out my mother's attic this past spring I came upon them once again and decided that people should see them. I asked my aunt and uncle (his brother and sister) if they knew anything about them such as when they were drawn, etc. and to my surprise they did not even know he had any artistic talent. Seeing his drawings in this gallery was the first time they had ever seen them! In the early 1950's or very late 1940's, my grandfather, under the name Paul Ondre, also cut a handful of records that recieved airplay and media attention. He sang in many clubs as well as on cruise ships. His style was similar to old Frank Sinatra and Bing Crosby. Below is a photo of some of those records. Next month I will have some actual press clippings to view.
